A completed architectural investigation on Mount Artana, Kosovo. A compact space, suspended between a historic landscape and a contemporary way of living.

Close to the medieval Artana Castle, HUT SPACE rests above a steep natural slope, opening its interior to panoramic views.
Its minimal geometric volume and restrained materials seek to preserve the character of the terrain. A dark corrugated-metal exterior gives way to a warm interior of solid wood panel elements and integrated furnishings.
The realised HUT SPACE01 uses a steel load-bearing structure with localised reinforced-concrete foundations. For a new series, steel screw piles can be assessed as an alternative to conventional concrete foundations, subject to geotechnical findings, engineering and local approvals. The final foundation solution is agreed for the actual site.

HUT SPACE01 accommodates an entrance, two bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen and a combined living and dining space.
